LoGH

jong!thankful
While I like the fancy, trendy animes that are being churned out now, I have a soft spot for old school classics like LoGh and Saint Seiya. Legend of Galactic Heroes has always been the elusive, precious gem for me (so thank you [info]sesame_seed); the kind that you know only vaguely from its surface, and its value only higher for it.

This for me was an OAV I watched on VHS almost five years ago, a one-off prequel to the series that followed Reinhard and Siegfried as new soldiers in the army. It was utterly compelling and intense, and so my love affair with LoGH began.

So if anyone knows what I'm talking about, and can point me to a link for this OAV, I will be eternally, eternally grateful.

...Did the shop close down, btw? Cuz I think that I rented it from the that place in that alleyway behind Gelare. If it is the same video we are talking about, of course.

...(also, did you really, really sign up for bb_shousetsu? This neko's dirty mind is now very curious as to what YOU are going to produce. XD)

Oh my god, Saint Seiya. So long ago! Hasn't it been subbed? I could've sworn -- okay, so it's a bit spotty in places, but most of the eps can be requested from Streamload, which means BT probably has it, too...?

I went looking for the OAVs after you mentioned them, because I realized that I've never seen them either (and because I always liked the Gaiden better, since people are still, y'know, ALIVE in them), and apparently there are five (five!): three movies and two 20+ ep series.

I've upped the second movie here, but I don't think it's the one you're looking for...? The Streamload link for the first one, alas, has expired, but there's still a torrent of it here, and even a seeder, too. XD That's actually my favorite of the novel's side stories -- the one where someone's out to kill Annerose, and Reinhardt meets Reuentahl and Mittermeier, right? Why WHY is the link deadddd? *weeps*

...no words can describe how much I love you. ^^

thank you muchly! heck, i didn't even know about the second movie, so i'm a happy clam at the moment =) i don't even remember what the first movie was about, only that it was so emotinally driven it left me enthralled, even way back then, before my yaoi fangirl days. ^^

...so technically My Conquest is the Sea of Stars is the second movie in the sequence, which i d/lded off you, but released in 1988 as opposed to the prequel, which was released in 1994.

right, i just got a little confused with the release order. =)
